The branch was recently established in March the 8th 2002 to serve the community on Kiritimati island and the rest of the islands in the Line islands. The branch is run by one manager, an officer and clerk, a total of three staff. For the initial two years the branch had been operation on a loss. It is anticipated that in 2004 the result will show a surplus if marketing is effectively carried out.
