The Account section is one of the four sections within the Corporation. The division is currently comprised of 5 permanent staff and 1 temporary staff. Our duties and responsibilities are designed in order to accomplish the roles and goals of the division, which concentrate most on collecting, recording, analyzing financial information for the General and Life accounts.
Our staff are trained and specialized in their respective areas of responsibilities. The On job training and the performance appraisal system is frequently undertaken to ensure that our staff work to their best performance and expectations in order to meet the set annual work plans and goals of the Account section.
Highlights.
(i) One of the main highlight and the new change for the division and the corporation as a whole is the adoption and implementation of the MYOB accounting software. Our accounting systems are fully computerized for both Tarawa and Xmas branch for the General and Life Accounts.
(ii) Another success for last year was the completion of the 2006 to 2009 annual accounts. The 2006 and 2007 is currently audited by the Government Auditors and the auditing for the remaining accounts will proceed hopefully at the beginning of this year.
